KYRA PHILLIPS, CNN ANCHOR: In Washington, investigators are following new leads this morning in the Chandra Levy investigation. According to "The Washington Post," police have found evidence suggesting that Levy may have been tied up.
CNN's Jason Carroll joins us now from Rock Creek Park with the latest on that investigation -- Jason.
JASON CARROLL, CNN CORRESPONDENT: And good morning to you, Kyra.
We spoke to investigators out here at the scene. They were unable to confirm that report coming to us out of "The Washington Post."
Do want to set the scene for you, though, while we are here. If you look up the road there just beyond that police cruiser that you see out there, Chandra Levy's remains were discovered just about 100 yards beyond that, discovered on Wednesday by a man who was out walking his dog.
Today investigators brought out cadaver dogs to search the area. The dogs are canvassing the perimeter that has been set up. It's a large, two-tier perimeter of the crime scene here in Rock Creek Park.
At this point, police have enough information to put together some sort of a computerized map of the crime scene. They looked at where the remains were found versus where Levy's clothes were recovered. It's one way to try and determine if Levy was killed here or killed somewhere else and then brought here.

SGT. SCOTT FEAR, U.S. PARK POLICE: They went through the whole scene with a laser unit that precisely measures out the distance between evidence and also like land, landmarks, things like that. It'll -- they turned it over to the investigative team, it was turned over last night, where they can use that information for any possible clues.

CARROLL: Again, a large perimeter has been set up out here. At this point, investigators are thinking about bringing in that perimeter, at least at some point. But at this point, there is no indication of exactly how long they plan to be out here searching -- Kyra.
PHILLIPS: All right, Jason Carroll live from Washington, thank you.
