Faces at Ground Zero: Palestinian Man Made Difference

CATHERINE CALLAWAY, CNN ANCHOR: We're going to turn now to our Faces at Ground Zero, the spotlight this hour on a Palestinian man who made a difference.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

JOE MCNALLY, CREATOR/PHOTOGRAPHER, "FACES OF GROUND ZERO": Those are life-size pictures, larger than life heroics. They were giants. They stood tall.

Saade Mustafa was one of our first subjects, and he was a lighting technician with NBC's "Third Watch." And he had all these array of lights in his truck.

SAADE MUSTAFA, TELEVISION STUDIO ELECTRICIAN: We went down, we handed out food and water and everything. And we did that during the course of the day, and that's as the day went by and the night came, I see people running around setting up (UNINTELLIGIBLE), you know, setting up lights, running cable.

So one of my friends, he was, like, Hey, man, you got your tools out? I was, like, Yes, sure. He was, like, Come on.

MCNALLY: We felt very strongly about having Saade in the show. And as part of the project, because he's Palestinian.

MUSTAFA: I was a little nervous when I was down there, because of being of Middle Eastern descent. But that was out the window, because it's, like, everyone's eyes that I met, it was just, like, it wasn't about that, it was just, like, Hey, do you need water? Hey, do you need a mask? Hey, you want some boots?

Why can't everybody be like this all the time? The greatness came out, the goodness of humanity came out. And it was interesting to, like, be surrounded by chaos and have, like, this wonderful thing happening.
