MILES O'BRIEN, CNN ANCHOR: And meanwhile, you drive the car right into a wall. But that's -- it's kind of hard to do that. It's hard to stay on the cell phone and continue shaving while you're doing all that in the car.
Anyway, technology Correspondent Daniel Sieberg has been out there at the big show, and he's got some cool gadgets to show us.

DANIEL SIEBERG, CNN TECHNOLOGY CORRESPONDENT: Well we're here at the Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas. And you know, not every gadget or gizmo has to be super high tech or about a digital camera or MP3 player. Some of it can just be fun and flashy.

We're here at the Can You Imagine booth looking at all these different gadgets and gizmos for kids of all ages. The one you're seeing right now is called the Water Symphony. It's brand new for this year. It will be about $150.

These little water droplets drop down and play what looks like what looks like piano keys and then plays this music, which you can hear right now. And this is just one of the different products that are here. We're talking about lights, clocks, all sorts of different gadgets and gizmos either for your home or your office.

One of them here is called a Helix. This is going to go for about $70. All of this stuff here at the Can You Imagine booth is invented by the same guy. His name is Steve Zoloft (ph), and he is over here demonstrating the Amazing String Thing, just one of the different gadgets and gizmos that are on display here at the Can You Imagine booth and part of the Consumer Electronics Show.

Now, from toys for kids of all ages, there's some technology that's aimed at protecting kids. And the first one we're going to look at is a smoke detector. This is from Smart Home Systems. If you can see the front of it here, it looks like your average smoke detector. But a prerecorded message on the smoke detector from somebody familiar with the child or an elderly person gives them instructions on how to get out of the house. And I'm going to play it for you right now.

"Get out of the house and meet at special place under the tree." This is going to go for under $50. And again, the idea behind it is safety, letting kids know how to get out of the house in the event of an emergency or a fire. Now from there we're going to go to something that looks like a DVD player and it is a DVD player. It's from ClearPlay. But the technology with it allows parents to filter out any objectionable content that is in a movie. We're talking about profanity or violence.

It's got these preset filters that come with it. You can also by additional CDs or DVDs to load some more movies into it and filter out this content. That's about $100 or less. Of course, Hollywood and the movie studios has a bit of a controversy between them and ClearPlay.

In any case, all sorts of gadgets and gizmos to look at here at the Consumer Electronics Show. Daniel Sieberg, CNN, Las Vegas.
