(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP, "LARA CROFT, TOMB RAIDER: THE CRADLE OF LIFE")
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I know how you like your equipment. (UNINTELLIGIBLE) see you.
ANGELINA JOLIE, ACTOR: Don't worry. I can see you.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: OK. Where are you coming from, then?
JOLIE: Keep going straight. Keep your speed steady.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Lara! Welcome back! Do you ever do anything the easy way?
JOLIE: And risk disappointing you?
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HEIDI COLLINS, CNN ANCHOR: Are you just hanging around this weekend wondering what to go see? Whether it's action, adventure, or drama, it is now playing.
Anderson Jones from E! Online joins us now to talk about this weekend's new releases.
We were just looking at "Lara Croft, Tomb Raider," there, "The Cradle of Life." I know it's a long title. Is it a good movie?
ANDERSON JONES, E! ONLINE: It's not, actually.
COLLINS: Oh, crash and burn.
JONES: Unfortunately, unfortunately, it was too dull to hold my attention, and too loud to sleep through, unfortunately. No, I really didn't have a great time at it. And, you know, the thing about it is, I think sequels kind of have to, like, expand, like, build on the original. Unfortunately, this doesn't really do this. It's kind of just more of the same. You know, Lara has to save the world again, blah-blah blah, et cetera, et cetera.
And, you know, Angelina Jolie is great, I love her. She's one of my favorite actresses of all time. But this movie, outside of, like, a really great silver outfit, just didn't work for me.
COLLINS: Besides the outfit, not working.
JONES: Not working.
COLLINS: All right, let's go ahead and talk about one that I think, I'm just guessing, you will say works, and that is "Seabiscuit."
JONES: Absolutely.
COLLINS: Really?
JONES: Absolutely, yes. This is the first real contender. If the Oscars are in fact a horse race, this would be the lead contender. They want to go for all three in this movie. Dreamworks and Universal has already sort of said they want the big three on this one. They want best picture, best director, and best actor for Tobey Maguire.
This is a great movie, especially if you love those underdogs. There are four of them (UNINTELLIGIBLE) in this movie. There's a horse that no one thought could race, there's a jockey who's seen his better days, there's a trainer who believes in this horse, and there's an owner who probably shouldn't be investing in, you know, this odd horse, of all things.
It's a real crowd pleaser. The horse racing scenes are amazing. People are really going to love this, I this.
COLLINS: Wow. It looks fantastic, at least in that trailer that we have now, kind of the underdog type of story that everybody probably loves. OK...
JONES: People -- yes, it's the "Rocky" of, like, horse races, I guess.
COLLINS: "Rocky" of horse races, all right, we're remember that.
"Buffalo Soldiers," this is a movie that's out there. Before we get your opinion on it, let's go ahead and just take a look real quick.
JONES: OK.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP, "BUFFALO SOLDIERS")
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Three things I love about Germany. My Mercedes-Benz, no speed limit on the Autobahn, and a black market for anything I can get my hands on.
War is hell. But peace -- peace is boring.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
COLLINS: OK, I got to say, it looks interesting, a little intriguing. Anderson, you totally disagree.
JONES: I do. Well, it's a movie that's kind of been on the shelf for about three years. It was sold, if you can believe it, on September 10, 2001. The world became a very different place on September 11.
So it's a movie that's kind of been on the shelf. Miramax was trying to find the right time to release it. There weren't very many preview screenings for this movie. That's never been a very good sign. Most people probably rate it a C, and I'm going to stick with that. It's really nothing to get all (UNINTELLIGIBLE).
COLLINS: All right, well, let's not waste our time on it, then, if you didn't like it. But I know I...
JONES: (UNINTELLIGIBLE) of three.
COLLINS: Another one that you did like is "Camp." Now, I haven't seen anything about this.
JONES: Right.
COLLINS: We just saw a quick tease. And here it is once again, about kids going to summer camp?
JONES: Yes, it's more than that. This scene is actually called Turkey Lurky. And it is as good as anything in "Chicago." It is essentially a movie about kids who go away to a summer camp for kids who are into drama. So it's sort of like a -- it's a performance art summer camp. Every two weeks, these kids do a new drama, play, do a dramatic play, or a musical.
It's a real-life camp up in upstate New York. People like Robert Downey, Jr., went there, Sarah Jessica Parker, (UNINTELLIGIBLE) John Cryer. And really, it's a story about these kids who really are misfits, how they find a place for themselves and all of a sudden come together in this camp, where they, you know, perform musicals. It's kind of amazing. I really, really enjoyed it.
COLLINS: Good. Well, that one we will look forward to. Sort of a "Fame" camp for those...
JONES: It's hard to find...
COLLINS: ... (UNINTELLIGIBLE)...
JONES: It's hard to find, but it's definitely worthwhile.
COLLINS: All right. Anderson Jones from E! Online, we sure do appreciate (UNINTELLIGIBLE)...
JONES: Heidi, thank you.
COLLINS: ... (UNINTELLIGIBLE) flicks this morning. Thanks again.
JONES: All right.
