STEPHEN FRAZIER, CNN ANCHOR: We are waiting right now for a briefing by Sacramento police on their search for a suspected killer, their second manhunt in as many months. The suspect this time is a 20-year-old security guard who police say killed four people. That was a scene there, we're hoping to bring you that news conference.
First, though, here is a background on why this man is sought by police from Mike TeSell from our affiliate KCRA with more.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
MIKE TESELL, KCRA CORRESPONDENT (voice-over): Police helicopters and SWAT teams moved in very carefully on an unusual scene. Here, inside the Sacramento zoo, they found this woman, 32-year-old Burns security guard Diane Fautz (ph), handcuffed to a tree. Her car, according to police, allegedly stolen by the prime suspect in this case. Fautz (ph) was uninjured. The suspect, nowhere in sight.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: It was scary, but all I know thank God my cousin is all right. All right? And thank God for our law enforcement, because these law enforcement officers kick ass, and without them I don't know where I would be tonight.
TESELL: Police believe Ferguson got into the zoo by using this stolen white Burns security truck. They believe he used it to bust through a perimeter fence. They believe after handcuffing Fautz (ph), that's when he stole her car.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Where he went, we don't know.
TESELL: Police are still searching and have no idea where Ferguson is. But we do know much more about this man.
For starters, according to police, he is loaded with weapons -- an AK-47, two rifles, two 9-mm handguns and a shotgun. And we know investigators broke down the front door of Ferguson dad's house looking for Joseph. According to the Associated Press, Ferguson's dad did tell police he is missing weapons from his home.
SGT. DANIEL HAHN, SACRAMENTO POLICE DEPARTMENT: Again, it's very important that we get him off the street before he does anything to anybody else, because obviously he has threatened other people already. TESELL: KCRA 3 has learned those threats were made by Ferguson via cell phone to several Burns employees. According to police, he threatened those employees.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I was scared. I'm still scared.
TESELL: Based on that fact, police scoured the area, telling every single Burns security guard officer to leave their post for fear of their safety.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: And just get in your vehicles, and leave. Get your stuff, leave. Don't worry about your post. The client will understand. They just said leave.
