JUDY WOODRUFF, CNN ANCHOR: Joining us by telephone, Mohi Bullah, who is a reporter working for CNN. Mr. Bullah, tell us what you've seen and what you know about what's happening on the ground there.
MOHI BULLAH, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Since, for ten minutes I can hear heavy fighting in the ground here in the Kandahar City. And the (UNINTELLIGIBLE) AC-130 is bombing the east, west and the north of the city and just up towards Kandahar and going towards the airport. Judy?
WOODRUFF: And, Mr. Bullah, do you see evidence of U.S. Marines on the ground there?
BULLAH: It is difficult to confirm at this time. On the ground, I just can see only Taliban in Kandahar City. I am in the downtown of the city. But last night I was at the top of our roof. I could see some jets. They were getting right to the ground, so it seems like there was some forces, ground forces. Judy?
WOODRUFF: You were describing, you said AC-130 gunships, you hear fighting all around Kandahar. Are you saying this is much more intense than what it has been in the last few days there?
BULLAH: Yeah, exactly. It's much more intense. I haven't seen this for the past two weeks in Kandahar. This is the first time that I can hear heavy fighting on the ground. Judy?
WOODRUFF: All right. Reporter Mohi Bullah, who is, as we say, working for CNN. Thank you very much for joining us. He is somewhere close to the city of Kandahar in the south.
