CATHERINE CALLAWAY, CNN ANCHOR: Well, the grid iron classic is set to begin, the Superdome has 70,000 seats, and millions more fans are standing by to watch St. Louis take on New England. Reporter Mary Saladna from CNN affiliate WCVB is at the sports -- is it Sports Depot there in Boston? Where are you, Mary?

MARY SALADNA, WCVB CORRESPONDENT: Catherine, Sports Depot, it's a very popular watering hole...

(CHEERING)

SALADNA: ... (UNINTELLIGIBLE) Mardi Gras in Boston, if you will. In any case, no problem with fan support here.

(CHEERING)

SALADNA: All right. All right. Don't tell these guys that we're 14 point underdogs, because they don't care.

In fact, you guys know, what is it going to take to win today?

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: It's going to take the red, white and blue spirit, and of course (UNINTELLIGIBLE)...

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Another touchdown by Brady (ph)!

(CHEERING)

SALADNA: Give me a prediction of the score.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Oh, my gosh, it's going to be like 24 to 17.

(CHEERING)

SALADNA: You know what? It's not just -- hey, down, down. It's not just New Englanders that have come here to -- trekked here to Beantown to have a big party. We have a couple of guys from New Jersey, drove all the way up today.

Tell me about yourself.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I'm Scott (UNINTELLIGIBLE) from New Jersey, and there's nobody to watch in Jersey other than the Jets! And who the heck wants to watch them? Go Pats! Go!

(CHEERING)

SALADNA: How long was your drive?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Pardon me?

SALADNA: How long was your drive?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: It was about a five-hour drive up this morning. Left about 7:00.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: That's nothing.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: We're having a great time, and the Pats are going to win! Yeah!

(CHEERING)

CROWD: P-A-T-S, P-A-T-S, Pats, Pats, Pats! P-A-T-S, Pats, Pats, Pats! P-A-T-S, Pats, Pats, Pats!

SALADNA: Catherine, I think I'm just going to give up, because I can't imagine that you can hear me over these rowdy fans.

But it's in good spirit. It's a good spirit here that prevails, and a lot of folks think that we're going to upset the Rams and bring home the Lombardi Trophy to Beantown.

So we'll see. We'll be here all night -- and pray for me. I think I'm going to need it.

CALLAWAY: Mary, last (UNINTELLIGIBLE) in control there. Thank you.

That was Mary Saladna. She's with our CNN affiliate WCVB, with a very rowdy crowd, and the game is just now starting.
