CAROL LIN, CNN ANCHOR: It's all over but the sore calves. And as expected, American Lance Armstrong breezed his way through the streets of Paris, en route to another Tour de France victory. Patrick Snell of CNN Sports has more.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

PATRICK SNELL, CNN SPORTS CORRESPONDENT (on camera): It was another triumphant stroll along the Champs Elysees for the American, as he duly recorded his fourth straight title, confirmation if ever it were needed, of his status as one of the greatest cyclists of all- time.

LANCE ARMSTRONG, CYCLIST: They're all special. I wouldn't pick one over another. But you know, the newest one and the latest one is always the most special at that time. And right now, we're just all so happy. And it's a great team.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I think everybody knows that he's the strongest uphill, he's the strongest time (UNINTELLIGIBLE), and -- apart from being the strongest individual bike rider, he has the strongest team in the race as well.

ARMSTRONG: I never thought I would ever win the tour. And when I won the first one, I thought, that was awesome. I don't know that I'll ever do it again, but it was a special feeling, and to win the last four years is pretty awesome.

SNELL: Armstrong is now just one win away from joining an elite band of cyclists with five title. The question his rivals now are asking -- does he possess the hunger and the determination to join that elite band?

At the 2002 Tour de France in Paris, I'm Patrick Snell.
