ANDERSON COOPER, CNN ANCHOR: You're about to meet a woman named Charlotte Chambers. Why should you care? Well, it turns out she plays professional football. She's been playing for the Orlando Starz in the Independent Women's Football League for the last two years. As a professional she actually gets paid for it and, yes, that is full tackle football.
Lee Goldberg of our affiliate WKMG has the story.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
LEE GOLDBERG, WKMG CORRESPONDENT (voice-over): Getting out of her stick shift truck, this is 70-year-old Ms. Charlotte Chambers and suiting up, this is 70-year-old Ms. Charlotte Chambers too.
CHARLOTTE CHAMBERS, 70-YEAR-OLD FOOTBALL PLAYER: Well, most people would say you're crazy, so is the world.
GOLDBERG: While many think 70-year-olds should be at home knitting or gardening, Ms. Charlotte plays full contact football. She is not a novelty. She hits and leads.
KAHS SKY-DEER, STARZ QUARTERBACK: She makes us push ourselves because if Ms. Charlotte can do it then we got to be able to do it.
CHAMBERS: When the girls sometimes feel a little down and all and they look up and I look at them. They look up. I look at them. They look up. I look at them. We get our football face.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: She has given this team a lot of heart and soul because they see her energy and her drive at her age and it's like she's got more heart than some of them.
GOLDBERG: Obviously in incredible shape for her age, Ms. Charlotte doesn't worry about getting hurt. In fact, this great- grandmother wants her granddaughter to come out to play so she can take out some frustrations.
CHAMBERS: I can't tackle her legally unless she comes out and joins the team. Pray that she does.
GOLDBERG: Speaking of praying, when you're on the football field around Ms. Charlotte, you might even want to pray for your life. Ms. Charlotte, that wasn't called for Ms. Charlotte.
CHAMBERS: We are committed. (END VIDEOTAPE)
