ANDERSON COOPER, CNN ANCHOR: We're going to check in with CNN's Gary Tuchman who is standing by in Murphy, North Carolina where Eric Robert Rudolph is still in custody -- Gary.
GARY TUCHMAN, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Anderson, right now we're looking at a picture of the back of the jail here in Murphy, North Carolina. A van has pulled up. The door is open, as you can see in the back, and we're anticipating but not positive that Eric Robert Rudolph might be stepping into that van in a short time for a two-hour drive to Asheville, North Carolina where he has his first appearance in court tomorrow.

But authorities are not talking. They've been ordered by federal authorities in Washington not to comment anymore. Yesterday, they gave us plenty of comments but today they will not tell us anything about when Eric Robert Rudolph, the man on the FBI's Most Wanted List who's been searched for more than five years is coming out.

We do know he has to come out of this jail and go to Asheville because this hearing is scheduled for 10:00 Eastern, but it could be anytime between now and tomorrow that he leaves; however, this van pulled up behind the jail about ten minutes ago.

There are lots of authorities surrounding the area, most of them with weapons, so it could be happening at any time that this 36-year- old Rudolph, believed to have been living in the North Carolina Mountains for the last five years steps out of this small city jail cell and heads to Asheville for his first hearing -- Anderson, back to you.

COOPER: Gary, how tight is security? I mean earlier today we were seeing images of agents with high-powered automatic weapons walking around this building.

TUCHMAN: Very tight. Anderson, this jail is not Alcatraz so therefore they had to do a lot of modifications in order to keep a man who's been sought after for so long and considered so dangerous. So, they have plenty of people surrounding the area. The area you're looking at right now, no one in civilian clothes is allowed to come close to.

We're standing outside a roped off area and they won't let us anywhere close to him. When we walked up before to ask a couple of questions, they shooed us away very quickly, so they are being very cautious, very careful, releasing very little information. COOPER: All right, we're going to continue to monitor the situation, Gary Tuchman on the scene, but just we will continue to monitor it as well from Atlanta, bring you any developments as warranted.
