MARTIN SAVIDGE, CNN ANCHOR: Bragging rights. They were on the line yesterday in some of college football's biggest, we're talking biggest, grudge matches, and today some big games are on tap at the National Football League.
KOPPEL: CNN's Matt Morrison has a closer look at some of this weekend's action. How is it going to affect the championship picture?

MATT MORRISON, CNN SPORTS CORRESPONDENT: Well, the college championship picture is a little more in focus. Not completely set in stone, but I think we have a good idea who is heading to the Sugar Bowl.

The system isn't perfect, but somehow is just seems to work out. Last week we were wondering how in the world Southern Cal could win 45 to nothing and lose its key number two ranking in the bowl championship standings. Well, winning tends to take care of that, and so does losing.

And in Ann Arbor, Michigan Saturday, the 100th rivalry meeting between Michigan and Ohio State. It was all Wolverines early in this one. Brayland Edwards (ph) scoring on a long touchdown. He had two on the day. The Buckeyes losing clarifies the picture. Because Ohio State's out of the national championship hunt. 35-41, Michigan with the win.

Meantime, Keshaun Johnson (ph) who, as you may be aware, has a little time on his hands these days, he was on the sidelines watching his alma matter Southern Cal whip up big on their archrival UCLA. Mike Williams, who is the latest in a long line of terrific receivers for Southern Cal scored two touchdowns, this on the inside job. And it is Southern Cal regaining that key spot. We'll know for sure Monday.

Now, we are getting set here for some big action in pro football. And it's deep into the season, it's still tough to tell who are the good from the bad. The ugly include Atlanta, Jacksonville, and San Diego. The only match up of two teams with winning records today is in Dallas, where the 7 and 3 Cowboys host the 8 and 2 Carolina Panthers. Carolina Panthers? Yes, most fans would have a hard time telling you who plays quarterback for Carolina, let alone how to pronounce his name. He's Jake Delhomme. He's looking for a big win, number nine in Dallas today.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP) JAKE DELHOMME, QUARTERBACK, CAROLINA PANTHERS: It's a big game. I think both teams have done well so far; we've put ourselves in position to strike for the playoffs, and every week is important. Every week is a playoff run, so it is a conference game, so I know it's big on both sides.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

MORRISON: And halfway around the globe in South Africa, the U.S. team needed a big rally to tie the President's Cup, 17 points to 17 points, and now Ernie Els and Tiger Woods will have a mano-a-mano playoff for the President's Cup championship.

SAVIDGE: Big thing.

MORRISON: It's going on right now. A lot of fun.

SAVIDGE: Good to have your energy with us.

MORRISON: Thank you.
