KELLY WALLACE, CNN ANCHOR: Let's get a sense of what the East Coast is looking like. CNN's Michael Okwu is at LaGuardia Airport in New York. And Michael, for those who might be heading there later today, what are we going to encounter when we get there?
MICHAEL OKWU, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Well, the last thing you want to deal with when you're coming back from your Thanksgiving holiday when you're still digesting your turkey still, is having to deal with long lines at the airport. And in fact, if you're here at LaGuardia Airport today, you probably don't have to do that. In fact, if you look over my shoulder, this is as many people we have seen all day long.

In fact, the authorities tell us there are no lines longer than four to five minutes today in spite of the fact that volume is really high today. In fact, LaGuardia is planning on dealing with 1,000 to 1,200 flights today. Inf fact, the Hanson family is going to be getting on a flight this evening at 6:00.

What's your name?

MEGAN HANSON, TRAVELER: I'm Megan Hanson.

OKWU: Megan, you guys came to New York. I understand, you were in the Thanksgiving Day Parade?

M. HANSON: Yes. We were in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade this year and had a great time.

OKWU: Tell me how that was.

UNIDENTIIFED MALE: It was great. We were balloon handlers for the Centennial Balloon.

OKWU: So, were you concerned about your big trip to New York City getting back on this holiday weekend, flying back? Tell me the thought that went into that.

M. HANSON: Oh, yes. We had our concerns. We're actually meeting up with a group of people in Dallas and boarding a plane with them. And we're hoping we actually make that plane this weekend. It looks like the weather will hold out and we have a chance to do that.

OKWU: I see you're traveling with a cutie over here. What's her name?

M. HANSON: Hanna. OKWU: What's it like traveling with Hanna, I know it's probably difficult generally speaking, but this particular weekend so many American families flying, some 4.6 million Americans, up from last year. Were you concerned at all about the volume and getting to the airport in time and all the security checkpoints and all that, specially with a bundle like Hanna?

M. HANSON: A little bit. We tried to be as light packers as we could. It's went pretty well though. She's done well and hOur packing was pretty good.

OKWU: You might have a different opinion, my friend.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: She had more bags than we did it.

OKWU: The Hanson family from Texas. Have a safe trip. Great talking to you. We're in the Macy's Day Parade again. This is really a very busy day here at LaGuardia Airport, as I mentioned. It's going to be a big day for a lot of travelers. But thus far, nobody is talking to us about andy kind of problems or any kind of delays.

In fact, this is exactly what it was like on Wednesday when this weekend started. I feel like I'm in the movie "Groundhog Day." Let me say that again, I feel like I'm in the movie "Groundhog Day."

WALLACE: Michael Okwu, giving us a sense of it was like on Wednesday and Sunday. Let's keep our fingers crossed that those smiles continue. Thanks Michael for the latest at LaGuardia Airport outside New York City.
